Lot Essay

Of classical Ming shape, the four elegant white porcelain cups, their stands and the tea pot are each harmoniously covered with extremely thin bamboo, with gold applied five times on top; dated ren chen nian zhi and golden Shang Xia mark on the base; together with a black walnut tray inscribed with a poem adapted from 'Preface To The Poems Collected from the Orchid Pavilion'

Water is flowing between pavilions ever since the old days, Mountain is thriving with bamboos only when spring comes
