He was responsible for the entry on cricket in Encyclopedia Britannica, though the article was signed off by H.S. Altham. This is an excellent opportunity to acquire a nearly complete set of his Chicago annuals which contain much of interest about the game in the USA and elsewhere. The war years are particularly difficult to come by.
