SECOND EDITION, FIRST ISSUE with Laws as altered 3rd June 1844. The price continued to go up, this edition being sold at 3/- in cloth and 2/6d in wrappers, 6d more than the previous issue; while the match coverage is bigger, there is no attempt at classification, and games simply follow a chronological order. Thus a minor match between Blickling and Holkham sits next to one between Kent and England, both receive almost equal space, and the higher status of the latter only shows through the inclusion of bowling averages. Allen 46; Goldman p.68: ‘one of the very rare cricket items’; Taylor p. 40; Padwick 1068.
