FIRST EDITION OF THIS ELUSIVE WORK. Many of the descriptions are by Juan Gundlach. Zimmer and Nissen only call for 18 of the plates to be hand-coloured. Fine Bird Books p. 89: ‘rare’; Nissen IVB 543 (1902 facsimile edition only); Zimmer p. 384: 'a great rarity’.
