[ANDRÉA DE NERCIAT, André Robert (1739-1800)]. Monrose, ou suite de la Félicia. Première [-quatrième] partie. Paris: An. 8 [i.e. 1799].
4 volumes, duodecimo (134 x 78 mm). With the half-titles. 20 engraved plates by Quéverdo on thick paper, numbered with corresponding pagination for this edition. (Tiny marginal chip to H6 in vol. II, occasional insignificant spotting mainly affecting just a few leaves in vol. III.) Contemporary red morocco by Hardy, cover with gilt frames of triple fillets and acorn cornerpieces, spines with raised bands gilt in 6 compartments with acorn device repeated, gilt turn-ins, marbled endpapers, gilt and marbled edges (extremities only faintly rubbed).
A FINE SET IN RED MOROCCO, with illustrations by Quéverdo, of Nerciat's very popular continuation to Felicia. AE and ABPC record no copy of this edition at auction; the Bibliotheque nationale de France copy lacks two volumes, and the Library of Congress and British Library copies are both defective, lacking a number of plates. Apollinaire Enfer 453-454; Dutel A-720.
