Duodecimo (157 x 90 mm). 4 engraved plates including the frontispiece, perhaps by Bonnet. (Light scattered spotting.) Full red morocco by Trautz-Bauzonnet, signed, spine with raised bands and gilt in compartments, lettered directly in gilt, sides with French fillet border in gilt, top edge gilt, others uncut, marbled endpapers (some spotting on the covers).

FIRST EDITION OF ONE OF THE MOST STRIDENT PAMPHLETS AGAINST MARIE ANTOINETTE. Other characters in this anti-Monarchy play include Louis XVI, Madame de Tourzel and the Princesse de Lamballe. A second edition of this revolutionary publication appeared the following year. AE and ABPC record only one copy of this rare first edition at auction: the Charles Hayoit copy.
