Quarto (201 x 131 mm). 10 gelatin silver prints (c.105 x c.80 mm) tipped-in. Styrsky's monogram in blue ink at end of introductory text, and Styrsky's signature in pink on the limitation. Original textured paper wrappers, front cover lettered in black (spine and top edge lightly darkened). Provenance: Jindrich Styrsky (inscription, dated June 1933, to:) -- Jindra Slavovich.

FIRST EDITION OF THIS VERY RARE MASTERPIECE OF SURREALISM; PRESENTATION COPY INSCRIBED BY STYRSKY. One of only 69 copies published, this one numbered 27, of which only approximately 20 are thought to survive. 'Styrsky's unusual openness toward sexual themes hastened his unprecedented, forceful imagination toward extremely potent visions that had an immediate effect on the young generation' (Birgus). Rare: AE, ABPC, and Artnet record only two copies at auction since publication. Not in Nordmann.
