A YIXING SNUFF BOTTLE
18TH CENTURY
The rectangular bottle is incised with a chrysanthemum to one side and stamped with an inscription to the reverse reading "qiwei ke zhao yun wai ke; qingxiang neng yin dong zhong xian; You Ting zi zhi" which may be translated as "scent can draw the Guest from beyond the clouds; fragrance can lead the Immortal from the cave; made for the personal use of You Ting". There are three further impressed seals.
