A GILT LACQUERED FOUR-FOLD SCREEN WITH INSET EMBROIDERED PANELS
LATE 19TH CENTURY
The gilt lacquer frame is decorated to the top and bottom sections with shaped cartouches enclosing figures at leisure, the sides with further floral decoration. The textile panels of various colours are embroidered with scenes of figures at leisure in garden settings. The reverse is decorated with birds.
Each panel 79¼ in. (201.3 cm) high; 22 in. (56 cm.) wide
