The group presented in ten stacking deal trays, each tray with the intaglios depicting classical scenes and figures in gilt-card frames, accompanied with a handwritten Italian inventory of the intaglios, inscribed with the maker's name and address, and a later English translation, the cover with ink inscription 'W. Beckwith'
Trays-- 10 ¼ in. (36 cm.) high; 8 ¼ in. (21 cm.) wide; 13 in. (33 cm.) deep

Lot Essay

This collection of intaglios most probably belonged to Mr. William Beckwith of Seacox Heath, in Sussex.
