A young lady, possibly Louise Amelia Teresa of Naples and Sicily, Grand Duchess Consort of Tuscany (1773-1802), in gold-bordered black dress, white gauze collar and fichu, black hat adorned with sprig of white flowers, ostrich plume and gauze veil, powdered curling hair

Lot Essay

Louise Amelia Teresa of Naples and Sicily, Grand Duchess Consort of Tuscany was a daughter of King Ferdinand of the Two Sicilies and Maria Carolina of Austria, a sister of Queen Marie Antoinette. She married, in 1790, Archduke Ferdinand of Austria. She died in childbirth at the age of 29.
