Lot Essay

The sitter was the daughter of Sébastien Berset d’Hauterive (1741-1830) and Renée-Françoise, née Leclerc de Beaulieu (1749-1804). She married, in 1790, Ambroise Duchemin du Bois-Dupin and they had one daughter, Renée-Désirée-Blanche-Claire Duchemin du Bois-Dupin (1800-1855).
