A WHITE JADE 'CATFISH' PENDANT
QING DYNASTY, 18TH/19TH CENTURY
The pendant is carved in openwork on both sides as a catfish swimming by a stalk of millet. The semi-translucent stone is of an even white tone with an area of russet inclusion highlighting one barbel and end of the stalk.
