A WHITE AND RUSSET JADE PENDANT OF A MYTHICAL BEAST
MING DYNASTY (1368-1644)
The pebble is carved in the round as a recumbent mythical beast with its hooves tucked beneath the body, its head with rounded eyes and a broad snout turned backward to face its tail flicked to one side. The mottled white stone has areas of milky and russet inclusions.
