A LONGQUAN CELADON 'TWIN-FISH' DISH
SOUTHERN SONG DYNASTY (1127-1279)
The circular dish has deep rounded sides rising from a tapered foot to an everted rim. It is applied in the centre with two fish in high relief with their scales and fins well defined. The exterior is carved and moulded with ribbed lotus petals radiating upward and covered overall in a pale celadon glaze.
