A CARVED 'PRUNUS' YIXING TEAPOT
QING DYNASTY, LATE 19TH CENTURY
The teapot is of compressed form, and is carved to one side with a blossoming prunus branch and to the other side with an inscription and signed Zi Ye. The slightly concave base with a seal mark reading Mansheng jian zhi, which may be translated as 'Made by Mansheng', the base of the handle and the underside of the cover are marked Zhi yun.
