Lot Essay

Joosten, who produced mostly still lives, was a pupil of Georgius Johannes Jacobus van Os (1782-1861) and Johannes Reekers (1790-1858), and became a member of his home town Haarlem's artist's society 'Kunst zij ons doel' (art be our aim) in circa 1870.
