Lot Essay

A similar bergere formerly in the collection of the comte de Ganay, and stamped 'G. JACOB' (maître in 1765), has the same eagle's mask arm terminals (F.J.B. Watson, Louis XVI Furniture, New York, 1960, p. 142).
