“A DATE THAT WILL LIVE IN INFAMY.” A fine, dramatic photo of FDR addressing a Joint Session of the Congress as he relates details of the “dastardly” surprise attack mounted against Pearl Harbor and other Pacific outposts by the Japanese empire. Vice-president Henry Wallace has also recorded the Senate vote on the President’s request for a declaration of war: 82-0.
