With 27 in. (68.6 cm.) signed blacked nitro chopperlump replacement barrels (by the makers) respectively numbered '1' and '2' in gold on the rib, 2 ¾ in. chambers, bored approx. ¼ and ½ choke, toplevers signed 'PATENT EJECTOR' and respectively numbered '1' and '2' in gold, automatic safeties with gold-inlaid 'SAFE', action signed 'ROYAL HAMMERLESS EJECTOR' on the underside, signed locks each with blued pins and gold-inlaid cocking-indicator, well-figured 15 ¼ in. diamond-grip stocks including 1 in. leather-covered recoil pads, bright finish with best quality scroll engraving throughout, and gold escutcheon initialled 'RJR', weight 6 lbs. 7 oz., in makers brass-cornered oak and leather double case

The makers have kindly confirmed that these guns were completed in 1900 with replacement barrels fitted in 1983.
