TWO ROMAN GLASS JUGS
CIRCA 3RD-4TH CENTURY A.D.
Both free-blown, pale green in color, with footed piriform bodies and applied spiral trailing on the necks and on the underside of the trefoil mouths; together with a Roman free-blown pale green glass jug, circa 2nd-3rd century A.D., with applied trail on the neck
Tallest jug: 5½ in. (13.9 cm.) high
Provenance
Nahum Goldmann (1894-1982), acquired in Jerusalem in the early 1960s; thence by descent and brought to the U.S. in 1982.
