CHINE, DYNASTIE QING, XVIIIEME SIECLE
The elephant is depicted standing foursquare with a finely incised caparison laid across its back. One boy is clambering upon its hindquarters and another is hoisting himself onto the animal's neck. The stone is of pale celadon tone with attractive dark russet speckled and streaked inclusions throughout.
