CHINE, DYNASTIE MING, XVIIEME SIECLE
The seat is decorated to the sides with a reticulated wide band of phoenix in flight amongst swirling clouds separated by two monster-mask handles, all between a band of waves below and clouds above. The top is painted and incised with four lotus leaves encircling a central floral design.
