Lot Essay

Accompanied by a Patek Philippe Extract from the Archives confirming production of the present watch in 2009 and its subsequent sale on February 25th of the same year. Further accompanied by a Patek Philippe Certificate of Origin dated March 6th 2009, product literature, Patek Philippe leather envelope, Patek Philippe presentation box and outer packaging.

Reference 5450 was launched in 2008 and produced in a limited series of 300 pieces for collectors to see the details of the exclusive Pulsomax escapement, the escape wheel made of silicon-based Silinvar and the Spiromax balance spring also made of Silinvar. These three innovations have resulted in increased reliability without lubrication, rate accuracy optimization based on improved isochronism, increased efficiency of the Swiss lever escapement, and an increased power reserve. The result is greater amplitude stability and longer-term rate accuracy.

To the best of our knowledge this watch has never before been offered in public.
