Lot Essay

Wolverine's claws have become synonymous with the X-men films and are as iconic today in representing the superhero as Superman's 'S' or Batman's bat signal. With later films in the series using fully CGI claws, this sale represents a rare opportunity to acquire the most instantly recognisable prop from one of the most successful film franchises of all time.

The original owner acquired this set of claws as a gift from their uncle who worked at 20th Century Fox. According to the vendor, the studio recalled the claws for reshoots, after which they were returned with minor breakage to three of the knuckles, the accompanying Fox delivery receipt dated 11th May 2006.
