of shaped oblong form and on claw and ball feet, stamped and chased with gadrooning, shells and foliage and with later presentation inscription, fitted with three detachable pierced holders with rope-twist borders, one containing a later cut glass pounce pot, the other two fitted with conforming inkwells, all three pots with unmarked mounts, the inkstand maker's initials I.W., London 1771 - 8¾in.
