Oblong with canted fluted corners, the oval cover with panelled dome below a carved wooden finial, sides bright-engraved with a band of foliate scrolls and pendant leafage around the upper body and a narrow band of chevron motifs on linear ground around the lower body, engraved to either side with a cartouche within ermine mantling, one side with coat of arms, the other with crest of Ferguson
