A GERMAN GILT-BRONZE AND PEWTER QUARTER-STRIKING HANGING CLOCK
JACOB MAYR, AUGSBURG, LAST QUARTER 17TH CENTURY
The foliate cast frame with brass loop handle, the pewter chapter ring with Roman hours and Arabic inner five minute ring with Roman quarters, pierced hands; the three train movement with circular plates joined by baluster pillars, verge escapement and front swinging pendulum, the backplate with countwheel and quarter indication, signed 'Jacob Maÿer / Augspurg', engraved hammer heads striking two bells to the hinged case
