Lot Essay

Dr Marian Bisanz-Prakken has confirmed the authenticity of this work, which will be included in her forthcoming addition to the Klimt Catalogue raisonné.

The present drawing probably belongs to the group of studies which Klimt made for Wasserschlangen II. These studies (Strobl nos. 1510-1518) have been dated by Alice Strobl 1905-1906.
