TWO SMALL BLUE AND WHITE CIRCULAR BOXES AND COVERS
CHONGZHEN PERIOD, CIRCA 1643
One cover is decorated with a large central pentagonal flower with pointed petals enclosed by curling tendrils, and the other with a central medallion containing a lotus blossom and a lingzhi branch enclosed by a ruyi border. Both boxes are painted on the exterior with two stylized floral sprays.
3 ¼ in. (8.3 cm.) diam.
