The Indian rosewood example with central compartment, the lid with slots for 'Answered' and 'Unanswered' correspondence, the oak example with arched top with brass plate engraved 'LETTERS' above a letter slot and a part glazed panelled door
The rosewood example: 4 in. (10 cm.) high; 10 in. (25.5 cm.) wide; 5 ¾ in. (14.5 cm.) deep
The oak example: 12 in. (31 cm.) high; 7 ¼ in. (13.5 cm.) wide; 7 ½ in. (13.5 cm.) deep
