Title in red and black, one large engraved folding map only and 4 folding plates (Lacks the second map.) Vellum with yapp edges and black morocco spine label, bound by W. Pratt for H. FIRST EDITION of the Nouveau voyage and the continuation of the Franciscan's Nouvelle découverte. Dedicated to William III, it uses contemporary sources to describe the manners and customs of the Indian tribes, and enlarges upon 'La Salle's extraordinary labors in the far reaches of Canada's new frontier.' This attractive uncut copy contains the impressive ‘Carte d’un nouveau monde’ but lacks one other map. Church 774; Howes H-417; Sabin 31351.
