Pochoir-coloured illustrations and culs-de-lampe by Clarence Gagnon, page 1 with colour-stencilled headpiece and opening initial, This one of 30 copies on Annam paper with an original signed illustration by the artist, and 4 original culs-de-lampe mounted on one page. Contemporary snow white vellum by P.L. Martin, edged in brown morocco and with brown morocco title label on front cover, top edge gilt, original front and back wrappers and spine bound in, lined slipcase with morocco edges.

A SUPERB SPECIAL COPY, the edition with a limitation of 725 copies overall, this one of only 30 on Annam and containing Gagnon's original art work; it is superbly bound by Martin. The large original illustration is of the arctic seals which appear on p. 76. Carteret Illustrés IV, 351.
