AN UNUSUAL CHINESE WOVEN BAMBOO-INSET BLACK LACQUER RECTANGULAR CHEST
LATE MING/EARLY QING DYNASTY, 17TH-18TH CENTURY
With black lacquer softwood top fitted with brass edgings and raised bosses, above sides inset with red lacquer woven bamboo, set into the softwood base with shaped aprons and loose rings on the long sides and bail handles on the narrow sides
9 in. (23 cm.) high, 23 in. (58.5 cm.) wide, 15 ½ in. (39 cm.) deep
