Lot Essay

The right panel mentions white blossoms (??) and green leaves (??). The left panel reads: “The land is rejuvenated (literally, ‘full’) with the cool breeze of a newborn spring.” Together, the two panels describe a pleasant garden scene and may have decorated a teahouse pavilion for a gathering of sencha aficionados. Appropriately, the characters are written in script that replicates bamboo.
