Lot Essay

Born in Gaza in Rafah Camp, Palestinian artist Hani Zurob migrated from Nablus to Ramallah. After receiving a grant to study and reside in Paris in 2006 he was unable to return to Palestine due to strict control on Palestinian national movement. Creating works that explore state of exile, waiting, movement and displacement - his oeuvre presents Palestine through a personal perspective and conceptual context that transcends borders and geography - concepts that remain close to the artist's heart.
