Lot Essay

Liu Weilin, whose style name was Weilin and pseudonym was Weiyuan, was from Nancheng in Jiangxi. He was a poet, painter, and calligrapher in the late Qing dynasty. In1904, he was appointed to go to Japan to research law and politics. When he came back to Nanchang, he worked in several capacities in the civil administrator in Jiangxi. Later he earned his living by painting and writing calligraphy in Shanghai.
