Liu Yazi (1887-1958) was a political poet from Suzhou. Liu used poetry as a weapon and wrote more than 7,200 agitated and militant poems. He held the posts of secretary in Sun Yet-Sen’s Presidential Palace and chairman of the Shanghai General Annals House. He also established and organized the Southern Society.
