A pair of German porcelain vases
probably Volkstedt, in the style of Sèvres, with tapering necks and lionmask handles, set on plinths, painted with Watteauesque panels of figures in 18th century dress within gilt borders reserved on a yellow-ground, indistinct blue factory marks and impressed numerals -- 7½in. (19cm.) high, circa 1900 (very slight wear)
