Irregularly shaped, and carved on one side with a poetic inscription, the opposite side with the signature Mai Dun, the seal face carved with the characters fang yuan (fragrant garden)

Lot Essay

Mai Dun is the style name of Ding Foyan (1878-1931), a well-respected calligrapher and scholar on ancient Chinese writings during the late Qing to Republic period.
