A PALE GREENISH-WHITE JADE BOULDER
18TH CENTURY
The boulder is of rounded oval shape and carved on one side with a craggy grotto revealing Shoulao holding a peach beside an attendant on a pavilion terrace, above two further figures walking along a rocky ledge. A further opening in the mountainside on the reverse reveals a deer on a mountain ledge beside pine trees. The stone is of pale greenish-white tone with some added russet color.
6 7/8 in. (17.5 cm.) high, wood stand
