The figure is shown seated with her head slightly inclined, and hands hidden within the folds of the full robes wrapped around her body. She wears an ornate bead necklace, and the hair is covered by a cowl.

Lot Essay

A similar figure of Guanyin, seated with her hands hidden in the folds of the robes, is illustrated in Blanc de Chine, S. Marchant & Son, London, 2006, cover and p. 12, no. 3, and bears the impressed seal mark of He Chaozong.
