A SANCAI-GLAZED POTTERY FIGURE OF A HORSE
TANG DYNASTY (AD 618-907)
The horse is well modeled standing foursquare on a rectangular base with mouth open. The body is covered with a pale cream glaze, and the mane with amber glaze. The bridle and straps are dappled with green and amber, and applied with molded tassels, while the saddle is unglazed.
