AN UNUSUAL MAUVE-PINK AND REDDISH-PINK OVERLAY WHITE GLASS BOWL
18TH-19TH CENTURY
The rounded sides are carved in relief through the mauve-pink layer to the semi-opaque white ground with four phoenixes with backward-turned heads and long curled-under tails alternating with vaporous clouds above a band of similar color on the foot and below a reddish-pink band on the underside of the everted rim. A Qianlong four-character mark is wheel-cut within a square on the base.
6 3/8 in. (16.2 cm.) diam.
