IRAN, 19TH CENTURY
On lobed circular and domed foot, with facetted stem, the lobed and circular mirror case and hinged raised lid decorated with a central solar motif, its centre worked as a bosse in the form of a human face, and engraved with courtly scenes interspersed with solar rays, the foot engraved with further similar scenes interspersed with gold-damascened interlocked palmettes within lobed medallions, each with borders with palmettes, the lobes' sides with calligraphic roundels
