Lot Essay

According to the colophon, the scribe who copied this manuscript was also time-keeper (muwaqqit) at the Great Mosque of Aleppo in Syria. He is the author of the sixth treatise included in this manuscript.

The works are: 1. Al-bari' fi ahkam al-nujum of al-Hassan bin 'Ali al-Munajjim, shortened by Nasir al-Din Tusi; 2. Sharh kitab hurmus fi 'ilm dala'il sir al-kawakib by Nasir al-Din Tusi; 3. Kitab al-dalalat 'ala sir al-kawakib 'ala al-amsar wa al-qaranat by Shihab al-Din Ahmad bin al-Majdi al-Qahiri; 4. Kitab al-'amal fi al-asturlab of Kamal al-Din Abu al-Qasim bin Mahfuz al-Hasib; 5. Kitab ma'rifat al-fusul wa al-shuhur 'ala sir al-kawakib and 6. Kitab ma'rifat saff al-mawlud bi al-tali' (?) 'ala ahkam al-buruj wa [..] by Muhammad bin Ibrahim al-Hanafi al-Halabi (the copyist).
