A RARE IMPERIAL PALE CELADON JADE SCROLL CLASP
QIANLONG INCISED YU SHANG FOUR-CHARACTER MARK AND OF THE PERIOD (1736-1795)
The convex side is carved in low relief with an archaistic bird's head above angular scrolls on the longer tab, the shorter tab with a slit, the concave reverse carved with the four-character mark. The stone is of a pale greenish-white tone with a soft polish.
2 3/4 in. (6.9 cm.) long
Provenance
Acquired in Guangzhou, China before 1949, and then in Hong Kong by the father of the present owners
