Lot Essay

Though little is known of the Russian-born sculptor, Hirsch-Bernarovitch Feinberg, the artist is recorded as working in the studio of Henri-Michel-Antoine Chapu. Most notably, Feinberg was awarded an honorable mention at the 1893 Paris Salon for a plaster bust of Tsar Alexander III (no. 4356).
