The central Chinaman with long dangly moustache, breeches and turned-up points to his slippers, holding aloft a torchère in one hand and cradling a parasol in the other, standing on domed circular base centred by a large flower-head, the extinguisher in form of a lantern with openwork sides (the cover acting as an extinguisher), the bifurcated, foliate-pierced handle terminating in two dolphins flanking a swan, the sides of base chased and partially pierced, on four openwork supports, the torchère, parasol and lantern cover each with small bells dependent
