The case modelled as a Blackamoor pushing a barrel on a wheelbarrow with a monkey on top, with a dog and cockerel looking on, the white enamel dial with Arabic hours, the three train quarter striking movement with verge balance wheel escapement with one fusee and two standing barrels, quarter striking a bell and gong; together with a smaller 'Au Bon Sauvage' mantel timepiece of the same date with watch-style movement and verge escapement, back plate signed Thuret, Paris
